Gemini: put your question after the long context, not before
With big documents or code, Google advises supplying all context first, then your specific instructions at the very end, bridged by a clear transition.
Google’s Gemini 3 prompting guidance has a simple rule for long inputs: context first, ask last.
Structure that works
- Paste all the context: documents, code, transcripts or data.
- Add a clear transition phrase, e.g. “Based on the information above…”
- End with your specific question or instructions.

Based on the information above, list the three biggest budget risks
as bullets. Do not include anything not stated in the report.
Why
Instructions placed at the top of a huge prompt can get diluted by everything that follows. Putting the ask last keeps it closest to where the model starts answering.
